Built with love (and cat hair)

Hi, I'm Alice, the designer and founder behind Mewlicats. I made Mewlicats because I believe the things we wear should say something true about us…and for a lot of us, that truth involves a deep, slightly irrational devotion to cats.

That devotion has a name for me: Booboo. I adopted her from a shelter in 2022, and she wanted absolutely nothing to do with me at first. For weeks, she watched me from a distance — cautious, skeptical, taking her time. But slowly, she came around. And then one day, she just... stayed. In my lap, in my life, in every corner of my home.

Booboo changed something in me. She reminded me that trust is earned, that patience is worth it, and that the bond you build slowly is often the one that means the most. She's the reason this shop exists.

This shop is small and independent and very much a labor of love. Every design comes from a real place. And every time someone wears a Mewlicats tee out in the world, it makes me genuinely happy.

I wanted to make a shirt worth holding onto, so every Mewlicats tee is printed on the Comfort Colors 1717, a garment-dyed t-shirt with a soft, broken-in feel that gets better the more you wear it.

Ring-spun USA-grown cotton, a relaxed fit, colors that only deepen with washing. This isn't something you'll stuff at the bottom of a drawer. It's the one you'll reach for on the days you just want to feel comfortable and a little bit you.
